Stage 1, the briefing: a flat stage for a drafting hunt!

STARTING TIME – All together, unique event 13:00 (4th January) – New York 18:00 (4th January) – London 19:00 (4th January) – Rome/Berlin 02:00 (5th January) – Beijing 07:00 (5th January) – Auckland

In the first stage the users will start to know each other. The stage is the only one totally flat and saving energy drafting will be a key point. Alliances could be decisive to arrive compact in big o small group. Departing from Waiau river the end is located in Waikari. The entrance to Waikari village is the most critical point to assign the first victory of the Tour: with some small ramps there is the possibility to make the decisive sprint!

For this stage there are no climbs classified so the Black Jersey (Mountain Ranking leader jersey) won't be assigned.

The Red Jersey (Points Ranking Leader jersey will be assigned and will be worn by the second classified since the leader must be different.
